Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Okta Federation Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting platform design, implementation, and maintenance of our Okta platform.
Responsibilities
• Design and implement federation identity and access management solutions to meet business requirements.
• Configure and customize Federation applications, including user provisioning, single sign-on, and multi-factor authentication.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate federation technologies with various enterprise systems, such as Active Directory, HR systems, and cloud applications.
• Develop and maintain federation policies, rules, and workflows to enforce security and compliance standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to federation authentication, authorization, and user provisioning.
• Monitor the performance and scalability of the federation infrastructure and implement necessary improvements and optimizations.
• Provide technical guidance and support to system administrators and end-users on federation-related topics.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in identity and access management and recommend improvements to enhance our federation implementation.
• Collaborate with vendors and external partners to leverage federation integrations and functionalities.
• Document federation configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and future reference.
Required skills
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Federation Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of identity and access management principles.
• Solid knowledge of federation platform features and functionalities, including user lifecycle management, SSO, and MFA.
• Hands-on experience with federation administration, configuration, and customization.
• Familiarity with integrating federation technologies with enterprise systems, such as Active Directory, HR systems, and cloud applications.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex federation-related issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Certifications in relevant federation technologies (such as Okta Certified Administrator, Ping Federate/ PingOne Certified) are a plus.
• Experience with other identity and access management solutions is a plus.
