Job Description

Pay Range: $60 – $70/hr . The pay rate may differ depending on your skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.

[We work a hybrid schedule 9/80 A schedule and the expectation is the individual will do the same.

Job Description:  

  • We work in a team / collaborative environment of DaDT engineers. The team works together to find optimal solutions to engineering challenges.
  • The individual will be assigned a part / location to analyze on the structure and they will use the tools and processes to perform calculations. The individual will be expected to ask questions to quickly learn the DaDT analysis process and deliver organized and documented analysis for internal and external review.
  • The individual will get OJT to get them up to speed with the DaDT analysis process.
  • Analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs.
  • Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling.
  • Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis.
  • Tools utilized may include CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and a variety of software applications..
  • Candidate must be able to collaborate in a team environment, prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result, prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplish them simultaneously, and comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.

  • Candidate 1/2 – Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 8 years’ experience to include a  background in aerospace structural analysis Or Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 6 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis.
  • Candidate 2/2 – Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 12 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis Or Master’s degree in a Science, Technology,  Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 10 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis.

Basic Qualifications (required):

  • Competency with FEMAP and NASTRAN pre/post processing
  • Significant experience with Fatigue/Damage Tolerance (DaDT) analysis.

Preferred Qualifications (desired):

  • Experience with the following tools: jFAMS, FASTRAN, DBI/SST, Catia V5, and Knotch
  • Experience with the following: Navy fatigue/DaDT methods and report writing, Regression analysis techniques to develop load transfer functions, linear elastic fracture mechanics, Strain-life fatigue analysis methodology
